its been a long time and will be a long time.

my life has been great for those that care. or have missed me. lots of things happening.

Be on the lookout for some familiar things around you soon.

A Sensible man once said, you cut your hair and now your as sensible as i. how does a haircut define ones self.

i have really started to notice how people treat you differently in similar circumstances when your with a different crowd. I hate face value.

I am going to Vietnam on my Birthday for a week. shall be interesting to say the least. more later - maybe?

to say im in love is an understatement.

sorry your not allowed in here with those shoes, even if you were here last week in those exact same shoes.

So alot has happened since i last wrote in this, which wasnt even that long ago.

Basically it went something like this:
Friday after work i went home and now that im actually writing this i dont have a clue what i did. haha. hrrmmm.
Saturday was also very quiet. Got up played a bit of xbox and then Cathy Came over about 4ish and i went to her house. We cooked up a Christmas dinner and had a relaxing night. I have the best girlfriend. For Christmas She got me an old antique portable record player, that was broken, but she fixed it up herself. Its lovely. Plays all my vinyl with charm. She also got me some 78 records Vouchers so im headed there at lunch to see what records i can buy. hopefully good ones. But now this mean im going to buy even more vinyl now. we went to sleep early and then got up and Cathy went to work. So i played xbox some more. Got a phone call from my sister letting me know my grandad passed away on Christmas Eve at about 11:30pm. I have the funeral tomorrow - Friday. Im going but i think im just gonna stand at the back.
That night went to a party in freo with Jesus. Drank some red wine, met a lot of randoms and speed around the backyard in an old wicker-cane wheelchair. It rocked.
Monday morning woke up and went back to my house with Jesus. Had a jam then played at the Hydey. Was good fun. One of our better shows i think. had a blast anyways.
Tuesday was spent with a little Jam at my house, gotta work on our new song. and more xbox. Cant get enough of GTA San Andreas. Its the best.

Last night i saw Shop Girl. I quite liked it for a girly movie i must say. Interesting.

I also watched the craziest movie on SBS last night.
HUMAN NATURE
A philosophical farce written by Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich) and directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind), Human Nature follows the ups and downs of an obsessive scientist, a female naturalist, and the man they discover, born and raised in the wild. Scientist Nathan (Tim Robbins) trains the wild man, Puff (Rhys Ifans), in the ways of the world, starting with table manners. Lila (Patricia Arquette) meanwhile, fights to preserve the man's simian past, which represents a freedom enviable to most. In the power struggle that ensues, an unusual love triangle emerges exposing the perversities of the human heart. This film is a comical examination of the trappings of desire in a world where both nature and culture are idealised.

Financial Advice

In 2001 if you had bought $1000.00 of One-Tel stock, it would now be worth about $9.00 to you as an unsecured creditor if you are lucky.

In 2002 if you had bought HIH stock, you would have about $6.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

In 2003 if you had gone overseas and bought ENRON you would have less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer only one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminium recycling price, you would have $24.00.

Based on the above, the best investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle

I would much prefer not doing anything and stayinga t home with cathy instead of going to this. bleh. a work mate got me a ticket and all. how can i get out of it.

if i cant get out of it im gonna go crazy. my plan is on only staying an hour anyway. but its lots of travelling for nothing.

Not Alone [21 Dec 2005|03:02pm]
Weekend was grandouse. 4 times seeing IN Name And Blood. great guys, great band, great weekend.

Friday was Carlton Hotel. Loved the place. its huge. $12 jugs and good stage. what more could you want other than more people to go to shows there.
Saturday, walked to the shops and back, then we jammed, then i went to HQ. 11th were amazing as always, but damn it was hot in there. that night i caught up with Cathy in the city after but we just headed home to relax.
Sunday was hot hot hot. tried to sleep in as much as possible but it got too hot. Went into the city for some food and other assorted crap. Packed stuffs in the car and went to HQ again. another fine performance from INAB then we headed to 208 to play. was awesome. good show. pity not many people came in to watch. oh wells. their mistake.

I wish i had a camera to show my progress... after finding out november was really Movember i decided that December would be Beardcember. a month without shaving once. Unfortunately i dont grow much facial hair, so its mostly a neck beard. i would have put progress shots up if i had a camera though. but now it seems to have stopped growing 21 days into it. oh well i will endevour with it.

sj is lending me her poloroid so i can take some pictures of some tops im making right now. if they turn out good and i put the photos up here maybe i can make you something......

found out yesterday my Grandad is in hospital and not expected to live. Had his bowel removed and had a heart attack over night. Loss is a strange feeling i can never quite get used to. at least i have a nice girl to cuddle up to at night.

sometimes all you need is the wind rustling the trees in the backyard, the windows open slightly, bright eyes playing and someone who's company you just enjoy so much. Makes things seem special.

alrighty then. not MANly enough. how abotu a big car then.

So my weekend wasn't a very busy one and i ditn get too drunk. maybe. Friday went to my work xmas party and got as drunk as i could on free beer and went home. was a work event so it wasn't that great. blah.

Sat, jam was cancelled and so did not much at all. sat on the couch and woo. Cathy came over and then we watched the matrix. the Second one. i hadn't seen it befroe now. it was rpetty good, but i never got to see the end of it cos the dvd stuffed up. stupid!

then i already explained sunday, but other than that we went to freo and walked around. just relaxed. sundays have been really good recently.

also im very keen for it to warm up as im keen to go to the cliffs for some jumping action. its good times.

Ironic, Isn't it?

True Story!!

In August 2000, a 44 year-old qwoman named Angel Destiny fled for her life dressed only in pajamas after half of her house in Cardiff, Wales, collapsed into rubble.
Destiny, who makes her living as a psychic, told reporters, "I just didnt see it coming."

I like folding all my money in small squares, so as to annoy anyone i then hand the money over. would this annoy you, or are youa culprit?

Walt Disney Was Born on this date in 1901. Useless fact No.: 367 [05 Dec 2005|11:17am]
[ music | In Name And Blood - Dead Water ]

Weekends are swell.

Friday after work got home and got stuck into the drinks. Good good good. then Cathy Came over and we went to the rosemount to watch Emiliana Torrini. She was pretty good. the crowd was shitty and she had some funny stories to tell inbetween songs, even if they weren't even relevant. I still dont think it was worth $45 though. Went home and went to bed really.

Saturday, got up and did jack shit. just relaxed around the house till we had to go to jam. Jam was good. We are working on a new song. its hard work - but its gonna pay off. this song is amazing. Went home showered and left for Every Time I Die. Parkway didnt really do too much for me. but ETID were amazing. Seriusly Keith's Voice was damn near perfect. This show was definately worth the $40. Found out other good news that night too. fun fun times. everybody looks quite dazzling, in there formal attire We are The Dead. then went to Amps. Had a chat to some coppers cos Greg and I were street drinking. No fine tho! woo! Talked to heaps of good people at amps then went home.

Sunday i did basically nothing. but i had a great day. Spent the whole day with Cathy, which always means its going to be a good day. Went to scarborough for fish and chips and ice cream. and other than that just hung round the house and relaxed. only time i watched tv even was for the news to see that meteor thingo which Channel 7 described as being the size of a carton of beer, while abc decided it was a basketball size. i vote for the carton of beer. And i did watch a good travelling show about toyko. and also the sunday movie on SBS. and another show on abc about a photographer. at least the shows i watched were good. hrmrm wow a journal entry about the tv shows i watched. sounds like riveting reading. haha.

anyways back to work i go.

This message is to every musician speaking out against file sharing:
get your facts straight, and stop regurgitating everything the major label tells you.
Anyone still clinging to the cage-format for music is either a middleman or lazy. Squidnecks. You major label suckers make me laugh. Do you really think your label would come out and say, "Hey we cut your paycheck in half because you've got to help pay for the 250 billion copies we give away?" Have they mentioned when they cut new releases by 25% sales dropped 4.1% and they blamed it on P2P? Have they mentioned that they responded to that drop by raising the cost of your CD $1 every year? Does that seem like a good business move to you? Or does that smell like fear? Ask yourself what kind of business would cut research and development first? I'll tell you: the business that's about to make it's bed up in a mother fuckin hearse. While Hilary Rosen and the RIAA are trying to convince you that free listeners are a bad thing, those same five labels that pay them are charging you $500,000 to buy you spins. While you're negotiating whether or not the latest Napster pays you 1/3 of a cent per download, Comcast and AOL are turning the information highway into a toll road. You know the end is near when Britney Spears is calling it a moral issue. They've positioned you right between their wallets and your fans. They can't really expect to turn the tide with a few pathetic lawsuits. So you gotta ask yourself how does one stop a flood? You build a damn. IT'S THE ISPs, IT'S THE ISPs! Telstra will have every last consumer on their knees. Starting with 5.3 million subscribers to cable access; high speed.
They own the wires, so they can discriminate with bandwidth and queuing fees; guaranteed monopoly by the FCC. We're standing on the verge of an artistic cleansing of biblical proportions I say bring it. When the wickedness of big business is great in the earth
and it will even try to sell the waters that it's drowning in. Marching two rappers, two rockers, two composers, two programmers, onto a pirate ship in a free-market flood, until businessmen are businessmen and art is art again. Rock. This is not an issue of children not recognizing value in art. This is an issue of children recognizing value-less art, and
getting artists paid doesn't even play a part. The truth is for the first time since it's creation, the playing field of Australian music was almost leveled, and that, in the opinion of five big wallets, is unacceptable. Finally the world was given a voice to respond to the one-sided conversation conducted by the music industry for the last 80 plus years. Anyone who tells you that we've always had a voice, and it's in the form of money spent, knows good and well where your money goes when there's only one product on the shelf. You disagree? We can discuss it every four years in November. This already happened but most people weren't alive or don't remember. Radio showed up in the 20's and labels panicked, declared unlicensed broadcasts illegal, and lobbied all sorts of garbage until Capitol Records came along and broke ranks in '42. When they rose to the top of the pile, the other labels woke up and embraced radio too. We already know how the story ends - the new technology becomes consolidated and sold to one or two old white men. Maybe the RIAA isn't right, it's just afraid. Afraid that artists will find a new way to get paid. Maybe removing profit from the picture will expose the parasites, who spent 19 million in campaign donations every year to extend your copyrights. We'll see who's still making records when there's no compensation. If there's no beer at the party, the only people left will be there for the conversation. Maybe art is only art when it's depraved. Maybe the deck is so stacked, we need to start from scratch. We're standing on the verge of an artistic cleansing of biblical proportions I say bring it. When the wickedness of big business is great in the earth and it will even try to sell the waters that it's drowning in.Marching two rappers, two rockers, two composers, two programmers, onto a pirate ship in a free-market flood, and though I may soon be swept away, I can't wait to see who steps in to take my place
